Ultrasonic Distance Measurement

Ultrasonic distance sensors are great for measuring distance and position of an extensive range of objects, irrespective of shape, surface texture, and color. Ultrasonic detection is a non-contact form of measurement that happens via emitting and sensing high-frequency sound waves. They are perfect for use in industrial applications where the nature of materials measured can confuse other types of sensors.

Ultrasonic Sensors at P3 America

The P42 ultrasonic series features sensors with an analog (0V–10V, 4mA–20mA, or both) as well as two switching outputs. They are easily programmed via an RS232 or RS485 interface. Everything from the characteristic curve of the sensors to their blind zones, switching points, sensitivity, electronic filters, response time, and sensor addresses are optimally adapted to the measuring task. No special adapter is needed for communication with the computer. The sensor interface allows for direct access. Available in Polybutylene Terephthalate (PBT) housing (rated IP67) or stainless steel housing (IP65). Senses objects at distances from 600 mm to 4000 mm.

P3 ultrasonic distance sensors can be used for liquids, fill level, distance, position, proximity, and occupancy.
