Sliding Cursor (Shaftless)
Displacement sensors featuring sliding cursors for industrial applications. Robust linear transducers with long lifetime and high accuracy in measuring lengths from 50 to 2000 mm.
Mechanical detection of the linear movement is done by a slider cursor. Due to the absence of the push rod, the displacement sensor can be integrated in a space-saving manner. Some models feature a link ball coupling to compensate for vertical and horizontal offsets. Some models feature a magnetic sliding cursor or "donut cursor" where the internal wiper is magnetically coupled to the sliding cursor allowing for IP67 sealing and use within hydraulic cylinders. The potentiometric distance measurement is carried out with a high-resolution conductive plastic resistive element. The displacement encoder has a very long lifetime and high accuracy due to its good linearity. Since the potentiometric measuring principle delivers absolute values and requires no electronic conversion, the position feedback signal is true power on without delay, temperature stable and robust against EMC influences.
